Always. Skipping moisturiser in response to oiliness is one of the most common skincare mistakes — it signals the skin to produce more sebum to compensate, worsening congestion. The key is choosing a lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturiser that hydrates without blocking pores. Squalane and niacinamide are both ideal for oily and acne-prone skin types.
Two to three times per week is generally appropriate for most acne-prone skin types — enough to prevent dead skin cell buildup without stripping the barrier.
